Archos 5 devices supporting Flash 9, Widgets, games and more…
French manufacturer Archos, has announced its latest generation of PMP devices which they refer to as “Internet media tablets”. These touch screen devices offer a wide range of media playback, entertainment and internet capability through Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity. These devices support Flash 9 in the Opera browser which also supports widget applications.
From reviewing the specs of the device it seems there is a option for “Flash apps” under the “Play” menu. It is not clear what a Flash app is or how it differs from Flash 9 in the browser but it is interesting to see a dedicated menu option for Flash content on a device like this.

This sounds interesting. I have worked with you guys before at a past company (NBC), and looked at your previous Archos video players. I am now working for a telecommunications company owned by Brittish Telecom and looking for devices that support Flash 9 to run our Flash Telephone and other communication apps like SMS widgets, etc..
When will these Archos 5 devices be available for testing?

I dont work for Adobe or Archos. Unfortunately, I dont know when the archos devices will come to market, but you could try to contact archos directly about this.
